Getting ready for TEA Party visitors
The TEA Party of Huntington is in the process of inviting speakers from other neighboring county TEA Parties (and patriot groups) to come visit with us, and speak about their successes and failures. We are considering some major changes, and are looking forward to hearing from our compatriots. Having a coordinated action plan, and inter-related communications should be a part of the enhancement.
The Art of Political War
Be advised, dear reader, that there is a war going on right now in our country. Politics is war, only it is conducted by other means. Developing an effective strategy to promote the principles of the TEA Party is the only way to win this war. Enemies of the Constitution have been fighting this war for one hundred years, so the friends of the Constitution must develop a strategy and plan to stay the course for the next hundred..
The "Scoop" on Marriage:

Why Everything is Still Okay
With the president speaking out last week in favor of "same-sex marriage" it seemed to this writer time to address this contentious issue. It turns out to be not so contentious when one just looks at the facts.
The fact is that government and society have a stake in their own future, and that future is children. Children grow up to be taxpayers (well most of them, More on that later). In order to secure the future of government, and society, there must be children. Therefore it is in the interest of both to insure that good little taxpaying kids are always in the pipeline.
It is a recognized fact that the best future taxpayers (kids) come from stable families; i.e. those having two parents of opposite sexes. The government has created incentives, through tax credit and deductions for those married couples. It has nothing to do with how they behave in their bedroom, it has everything to do with what they produce- future taxpayers.
The vast majority of the people that this writer interacts with are folks that just want to be left alone. Most Americans do not care what others do in the privacy of their own home, as long as it does not include force or fraud. But all the hullabaloo about *special treatment*? Ha! The government creates incentives (i.e. special treatment) for groups all the time. So if one wants to receive the *special treatment* one must jump through the hoops. No hoop jumping? No incentives.
There are risks and rewards to all the choices that we make. Choosing a life partner is serious business. Most people don't hate one another for their choices, and don't want to be held liable for others choices. It seems to this writer that having the freedom to make choices is what is important. Choosing a life partner of the same sex does not come with government incentives. But everything is still okay, because we have the right to decide that for ourselves.
If you don't like it, then you must work to change it. The TEA Party is all about respecting YOUR rights.
The Votes Are In!
May 08, 2012
The polls are closed and the votes have been cast, and the rest, as they say, will be history. The Chronicle-Tribune of Marion has posted that Mourdoch has defeated Lugar in the U.S. Senate race. The IndyStar calls the insurgent Mourdoch the winner with 38% of the districts reporting. We know that we ought not draw conclusions until ALL the votes are in, but WOO-HOO!!!
As the Beach Boys once sang, "Wouldn't it Be Nice?".
The Thing About Incumbents
May 01, 2012
Commissioners Bickel, Hackel and Hoke have found a cute way to raise our taxes, without letting the taxpayers in Huntington County know that our taxes have been raised. So if you are not at the tax cap for your property, then these three have fattened the county budget by effectively raising your tax rate. You can pick through the details by visiting the Indiana Transparency Portal at THIS LINK
Now this is a very slick way to boost a county budget. These *incumbents* have more of our money to spend in county government. YOUR money. My money. They have managed to steal our money to circumvent the state property tax caps.
The thing about incumbents is that they get crafty. They figure out how to boost THEIR budget, at YOUR expense. They make you feel that you are Taxed Enough Already!
The Sheriff Speech
One of the main benefits of having Sheriff Stoffel address our group last Tuesday, is that he is now aware that, Yes, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2011, (NDAA) does in fact authorize the President to have YOU arrested by the military, The president can have YOU arrested for suspicion of terrorism, without a trial, without any evidence, in violation of everything we know to be American.
The Sheriff confirmed that, AYUP, you may be detained, arrested by the military, secreted off to a prison (somewhere), and held indefinitely. Without charges.
The Sheriff admitted that his department CANNOT PROTECT YOU from the President and all the President's men.
O.M.G.!!!
A Good Friend-
and retired schoolteacher pointed out to the writer that the time and place for the next Get Together was not previously mentioned.

Sheriff Stoffel (above) will address the group at the Dan Quayle Museum this coming Tuesday, April 24, 2012 and the doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. so you can socialize and be sure to get a good seat. We try to regularly start the program at 7 and officially end it at 8:30, so bring the kids. Many of our patrons stay beyond the official quitting time, (socializing) but again it is our goal to present the complete program in one hour and a half- to be respectful of YOUR time
And don't forget to bring a few pesos, or Liberty Dollars to put into the till that pays for the rental fee, advertising and snacks.
Tuesday April 17, 2012- and No Tax Day Protest?
Tax Protesting?
Shouldn't every TEA Party organization in America be out there protesting about the excessive level of taxation? Wasn't the acronym T.E.A. originally the short form of Taxed Enough Already? And what about that library with the largest *Rainy Day Fund* in the state- have the people of Huntington Township been swindled?
Where have all the protesters gone?

April 28, 2012- A day for walking...
Our friend Steve will be holding a walking party on Saturday, April 28th. Everyone is welcome to meet at the Cafe of Hope at 10 a.m. Maps will be distributed and plans established for volunteers to talk with fellow citizens about the upcoming election and the importance of NOT having a ruling class senator that lives in Virginia representing the good people of Indiana. Come on down for a caffe' latte and a donut beforehand, and help to get a new senator into office.
Sheriff - Addressing Huntington NEXT TUESDAY!
Hometown Homeland Security as presented by our own TOP LAW ENFORCER. We are hoping to hear about martial law, respect for private property, and how the people of Huntington County can be prepared for the worst, while we all hope for the best. How would an issue like the recent shooting in Florida be handled here in Huntington? Has anything changed regarding forced entry into YOUR home? Are conservative people really to be treated as terrorists, as the Department of Homeland Security suggested?
Revitalizing-
Would more planners be available on every other Tuesday evening? Would our attendance drop off by meeting bimonthly? Can we increase out political impact by holding more public meetings, or less?

Back at the Cafe de Hope
The good folks of the organizing committee swapped some stories about the recent "Candidate's Forum" with the general consensus being that both representatives handled themselves very well, and represented their man admirably. Our hats are off to both camps for coming and presenting their positions.
The Lugar (iincumbent) team maintained an air of experience, one of experrtise. The Mourdoch (challenger) campaign team undercut that theme, by presenting that the Constitution IS the deciding factor, and expertise may not be necessary in deciding complex issues because if a bill is unconstitutional, it MANDATES a NO vote.
Summarizing, the Ruling Class knows better how you should live your life, and will pass laws to make you do so. The Mourdoch Team wants the Constitution to be followed, and ALL bills that pass, to be guaranteed fully constituional.
Next Up: Sheriff Stoffel to speak
Preparedness, private property, and Martial Law in Huntington County. What does the Huntington County Sheriff recommend for the people of the county? How will an order from the President of the United States be interpreted in our county? And what about the recent law signed by the Governor regarding the "Castle Doctrine"? Come see the sheriff and ask for yourself.

Interesting Video about Government
Some really smart young man forwarded a link to a video, talking about the monopoly of force (violence) and of law.
It may be worth your watching, it is about 8 minutes long. Our discussions about America's Ruling Class appear throughout. (Don't be frightened by the title)

Stand Up for Religious Freedom-Rallies Friday March 23 at Noon
So a bunch of people will be getting together in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Valparaiso and other sites across the country, to PROTEST OBAMACARE.
Trouble continues for Incumbent Senator Lugar
Lugar can't vote in Indiana precinct, Board Says
from Bloomberg Busines News Splattered all over the internet, six term incumbent U.S. Senator Lugar and his wife learn that they are no longer welcome to vote in Marion County, where the chirade of being considered a *resident* after not living there for 35 years has come to an end. Interestingly enough, Lugar's buddies at the Indiana Election Committee don't mind that he has not lived amongst Hoosiers since 1977. They say he is eligible to run for election!
Your correspondent found this quote particularly illuminating: "The Lugar's have also sought and followed the express direction of every legitimate government authority to have addressed the question" Lugar spokesman Andy Fisher said.

Planning for the Senate "Candidate Forum"
A real fine group of patriots gathered this evening at the Cafe. Amongst the knitting ladies and other groups at the Cafe, they endeavored to resolve all planning issues for the upcoming candidate forum. March 27th, 2012 at the Quayle Center at 7 p.m. is the night to have all your questions answered by the campaigns of the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate. Both Richard Mourdoch and Richard Lugar.will have their representatives give a 15 minute stump speech, followed by questions from our audience. Questions about residency (Lugar) and attendance (Mourdoch) may be anticipated, but bring your best and favorites to present.
David Wilkie is the campaign manager for Lugar and Diane Hubbard is the representative for Mourdoch that will be presenting. They challenge you to bring your toughest questions!
And by the way, bring those excess Federal Reserve Notes to contribute to our Free Will Offering, because running the advertising is one of our largest costs.
And the April Event:
April 24th is the date for the next big shindig and Sheriff Stoffell and Chris Newton will be the featured speakers. Perhaps they will address the following.
Indiana's "Castle Doctrine"
Fantastic feedback from William Norman Grigg on recent changes to the law in Indiana. The Resistance Rises
Sunday, March 11, 2012
from The Woodpile Report:
I wrote some time ago about the terrible power of the statists' strategy of gradualism. Gradualism cannot be made into a weapon for freedom. It requires the surrender of all principles of justice, after which the field belongs to the forces of evil. Thus, we must counter gradualism with other weapons.
Whether we've failed to find the proper countermeasure or have failed to use it properly, the statists have defeated us at nearly every turn. At this time we're barely a hair short of having a completely unbounded federal government that exercises arbitrary coercive power over any and every activity known to Man.
Ol' Uncle Remus writes interesting stuff, as the highlight sentences above illustrate. This guest post, titled VISIONS AND TOMORROWS, can be found by clicking this link:
It speaks to the idea of our country going "Over the brinK". You owe it to your posterity to consider the possibilities.

Jim's Quote of the Day:
(From Survivalblog.com today)
"An unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed." - Norton v. Shelby County, US Supreme Court Decision 118 US 425, 442 (in 1886)

Good People gather on *Super Tuesday*at the Cafe de Hope
With the cancellation of the Wallace event, and the lost opportunity to pass around the Liberty Bell and gather goodwill donations, the TEA Party till had run dry. The good people that did show up antied up and collected enough to keep this website online for another month, or two. If YOU would like to make a contribution, send your check or money order to Huntington TEA Party, Post Office Box 1005, Huntington, Indiana 46750. Thank you.
Senator Lugar to be represented March 27th
We received confirmation that the Lugar for Senate Campaign will be joining the Mourdoch for U.S. Senate Campaign at the Quayle Center at 7 p.m. to try to win you over, and earn your vote in the Republican Primary election. Each team will present their position on the issues, followed by open questions from YOU! So be sure to bring those tough questions down to the Quayle Center. We start promptly at 7, so get there early for a good seat. We wrap it all up by 8:30, so bring the kids!

Senator Lugar to Visit Huntington, day after tomorrow
On Friday, the ruling class elitist Richard Lugar, soon to be ex-senator, will be hosting a question and answer meeting in Huntington at the Coffee D'Vine coffeeshop on Vine Street. The event will begin at 10:30 this Friday, and perhaps one of the questions that will arise might be- - -"Senator, does the qualification requirement in Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution for the United States, for a Senator to be an Inhabitant of that State which he hopes to represent, pose any particular challenge for you, as a candidate for Senate representing Indiana, being that you live in Virginia?"
Never mind that he has been Barack Hussein Obama's best friend in the senate. I would LOVE to see the elitist almost-ex-senator field a question like that.
Cursive Writing in Public Schools Curriculum?
One concerned TEA Party person has mentioned that on Monday, February 27 the Huntington Government (Public) School System will be considering whether cursive writing ought to be a subject in the curriculum. If you are passionate about *Reading, Writing and Ah-Rithmatic*, and feel passionate that the skill of cursive writing ought to be taught, then you better skip the Gubernatorial presentation at the Quayle Center and head on down to the Horace Mann School at 7 p.m. An opportunity for the public to speak to the school board awaits you. And if you DO attend, then you owe it to the Huntington TEA Party to show up Tuesday at the Cafe de Hope and report on your experience. Please. And remember that the school board members are public servants who are responsive to YOU, the paying customer. Please give us your feedback!

Quote of the Week (lifted from WesternRifleShooters.wordpress.com)
“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion — when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing — when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors — when you see that men get richer by graft and pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you — when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice — you may know that your society is doomed.”
– Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, p. 413
Guest Gubernatorial Candidate Speaker
Jim Wallace, Republican candidate for Governor, will be speaking at the Dan Quayle Center, on Monday, February 27 at 6:30p.m. Mr Wallace is a West Point graduate, former Army helicopter pilot and an Indiana businessman. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation. There is no charge, but there will be an optional goodwill offering. Please join us and encourage family and friends to attend as well. The Dan Quayle Center is at 815 Warren St. in Huntington.
